Armed Carjacking Under Investigation in Newark's South Ward

There is an active and ongoing investigation underway into a carjacking that occurred in Newark's South Ward during the overnight hours.

According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to the vicinity of Fabyan Place and Beverly Street to investigate reports of a carjacking in progress.

Officers arrived and were told by the victim that three suspects -two males and a female- were involved in the carjacking with one of the male assailants pointing a silver gun and taking their vehicle at approximately 8:45 p.m.

Police say the vehicle is a silver four-door Pontiac Vibe and the victim did not suffer any physical injuries according to reports.
