Police in Newark are on the search for about three suspects who are wanted for an armed carjacking that occurred in a Newark North Ward neighborhood on Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of an armed carjacking in progress that occurred in the 90's block of Davenport Avenue before 11:25 a.m.
Officers arrived at were informed by the victim that three suspects exited a blue van, approached, then demanded their vehicle at gunpoint.
The vehicle is being reported as a 2005 Audi A6 with a NJ license plate number "G68-KYK".
The suspects sped away from the scene heading eastbound on Davenport Avenue according to police.
There were no physical injuries reported.
