Police in Newark issued a 'be on the lookout' to surrounding municipalities for two suspects who were occupying a vehicle wanted for an armed carjacking in the city's South Ward overnight.
According to reports, police officials were called to the vicinity of Meeker and Elizabeth avenues to investigate a carjacking in progress that occurred just before midnight.
Units arriving at the scene began an immediate search for a two-door silver 2005 BMW that was taken when two black males approached the suspect with guns drawn and demanded the car shortly before police arrived at the scene.
The car has a reported NJ license plate number "K45-EYS".
There were no physical injuries reported.
