There is an active search for a suspect wanted for an armed carjacking that occurred in Newark’s South Ward.
It happened in the vicinity of Madison Avenue and South 18th Street at approximately 8:10 p.m.
Police say an armed suspect approached the victim and took a gray 2017 Jeep Cherokee with a reported NJ license plate number “J22-HXB”.
The suspect reportedly sped away from the scene in the Jeep.
There were no physical injuries reported.
