Police in Newark are investigating a reported armed carjacking that occurred in a neighborhood in the city's South Ward overnight.
According to reports, the incident happened in the 800 block of South 16th Street before 4:45 a.m. where police arrived at the scene and were told by the victims that an unidentified male suspect, armed with a gun, took their vehicle from that location.
The car has only been identified as a black 2017 Toyota RAV with unspecified NY license plates.
There were no physical injuries reported.
