Apparent Money Dispute Leads to Butcher Knife Slashing in Trenton

A 36-year-old man was arrested after an alleged money dispute turned violent Saturday afternoon.

Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Chambers Street shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday, where police found a 38-year-old man who had been slashed with butcher knife after a dispute over money.

The victim was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for treatment. No immediate information was available as to his condition or extent of his injuries.

The attacker, later identified as Damian Puran, 36, was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

Puran's bail was set at $50,000.
