Ambulance Crash Causes Injuries in Newark

An early morning crash that involved an ambulance in Newark sent at least two people to the hospital.

Emergency responders rushed out of a fire house in the 200 block of West Market Street shortly before 6 a.m. after hearing a loud boom about 100 yards away.

The female driver of a silver vehicle and at least one EMT was transported the short distance to University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The crash caused a minor fluid spill and some debris on the roadway.

Newark Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
