Amber Alert Canceled: Police Search for Missing 9-Month-Old Baby Taken from New Brunswick Home

Update: An Amber Alert activated this morning has been canceled after authorities found the father and child.

The alert was canceled just before 12:30 p.m. after according to sources the child and father were found in the area of George Street.

Original: An Amber Alert has been activated to assist police in locating a 9-month-old baby who according to police was taken by his father at knifepoint from New Brunswick home.

The father, William Merino, is described as a Hispanic male, about 6 feet tall, weighing 160 pounds with brown eyes, black hair and a MS-13 tattoo on his left arm. 

The baby, William Merino Jr., was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and khaki pants. He is described as a Hispanic male, about 24 to 30 inches tall, weighing 20 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. 

The baby was taken sometime around 9 a.m. They were last seen at 12 South Talmadge St. in New Brunswick.
