A 39-year-old Clifton man arrested and charged with DWI after he allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel of a car Monday.
According to police, officers observed a running 2004 Honda idled right lane of the highway at approximately 2:28 a.m.
When officers approached the vehicle, a man - later identified as Cesar Fajardo - was sleeping behind the wheel with the car still in drive. Officers put the car in park and woke up the driver.
Fajardo was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, refusing to submit to a breath test and reckless and careless driving.
He was released pending a municipal court appearance.
