Alleged Newark Package Thief Sought by Police

Police in Newark seek the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a package theft that occurred on Friday, May 26. 

Police said the victim reported to police that his Amazon package, delivered to his home in the 500 block of South Orange Avenue at about 4 p.m., was stolen.

According to Newark Police, the victim checked his home surveillance cameras and observed a male suspect walk past his house before turning around and taking his package.

The suspect fled, walking eastbound on South Orange Avenue.

He is described as Black, with a bald head, and wearing a red and blue hooded sweater and blue jeans.

The victim values the package’s contents at close to $900.
