ALERT: Woman Reported Missing, Located By East Orange Police Escapes Newark Hospital

East Orange Police officials said Ms. Destiny Owens, who had been missing along with her girlfriend Imani Glover since December 24, was located by East Orange police on Wednesday, February 22, at approximately 1:10 p.m. on South Maple Avenue.

With several outstanding warrants in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, police say East Orange police subsequently arrested Owens.  

During a medical evaluation at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Owens — while in police custody — managed to escape from the hospital and police are now actively searching for her.  

At this time, police say Owens’ welfare is a priority and EOPD is asking for the public’s help in her healthy and safe return.

Owens is 5’6” and weighs about 130 pounds.
