A serious accident involving an overturned truck on the New Jersey Turnpike's Western Spur has caused significant traffic disruptions early Monday morning.
The crash occurred just north of Exit 15E in Newark, where officials say a truck fell off the Turnpike and onto Route 1&9 below.
Traffic on the Western Spur is currently stopped as emergency crews respond to the scene.
Authorities have not yet confirmed if there are any injuries resulting from the crash.
Commuters are advised to expect significant delays as closures on Route 1 and 9 add to the morning rush hour congestion. Drivers are urged to plan for extra travel time and seek alternate routes.
