ALERT: Search Underway for Suspect Wanted for Robbing Newark South Ward Gas Station

Police in Newark requests the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in a business robbery that occurred on Thursday, September 2. 

According to police, at approximately 4 p.m., police responded to the Delta Gas Station, located at 822 Clinton Avenue, on a robbery call.

Police said a male suspect approached the gas station attendant and demanded cash at gunpoint.

The suspect then fled southbound on Fabyan Place toward Cypress Street, police said.

Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect.

The suspect is African-American, 18-25 years old, with a light brown complexion, 5’5” to 5’8” tall and approximately 160 lbs.

Police said the assailant wore a white “Champion” hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a black snapback hat with white lettering on the back, and “Metallic Pewter Nike Air Bakin Posite” gray and black shoes.
