ALERT: Search Underway for Missing Newark Senior Woman UPDATE: Found Safe

Authorities in Newark seek the public’s help locating Ms. Patricia Nelson, 83, of Newark, who was reported missing on Tuesday, April 18.

According to police, Ms. Nelson, who has Alzheimer’s Disease, left East Orange at approximately 12:30 p.m., driving a 2008 silver-colored Nissan Sentra with NJ Registration No. WHW79K.

Police say she is believed to have been headed toward the North Ward.

Ms. Nelson is described as 5’8” tall and 140 pounds with dreadlocks.

Police say she wore a brown coat, blue jeans, black sneakers, and a beige hat.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Patricia Nelson to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
