ALERT: Search Underway for Missing 61-Year-Old Newark Man

Police in Newark seeks the public's assistance in locating a man who went missing from his Newark South Ward neighborhood for over a week.

According to police, Mr. Jerome Porter, 61, was reported missing by his daughter who last saw him on Wednesday, August 28th near a bus stop in the area of Lyons and Schuyler avenues just before 3 p.m.

Police say Mr. Porter is 5'1" tall and weighs about 235 pounds. He has a dark complexion with brown eyes, salt and pepper hair and a mostly white beard.

According to police, Mr. Porter uses a rolling walker and has multiple ailments that include kidney failure and congestive heart failure.

Mr. Porter frequents the area of Beth Israel Hospital and The Irvington Bus Terminal according to police.
