ALERT: Search Underway for Hackensack Murder Suspect

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the ongoing investigation of a shooting that occurred at approximately 1:19 AM on Sunday, December 22, in Hackensack.

The incident is being investigated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge, Captain Peter Busciglio.

Police say on Sunday, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that a male party was shot and killed in front of the home located at 66 Grove Street in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Police say the victim is identified as Mr. Christian Pacas, a 22-year old, Hackensack resident.

As a result of the investigation, Prosecutor Mark Musella states that an arrest warrant has been issued for Jairo Echeverry, 20, in connection with the murder.

Police say Echeverry is considered armed and dangerous. Do not try to engage him.
