ALERT: Public Help Sought in Locating Missing Newark Senior Man UPDATE: Found Safe

Interim Newark Public Safety Director Raul Malave seeks the public’s help in locating Benjamin Figueroa, 71, of Newark, who was reported missing today.

According to police, Mr. Figueroa, who suffers from dementia, was last seen at University Hospital at 10:30 a.m.

He is described as 4’10” tall and 136 pounds. He has gray hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo of a knife on his left arm.

Police said Mr. Figueroa might be wearing a yellow short-sleeve shirt and dark color jeans.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly locating Mr. Figueroa so that he can be reunited with his family. 

Interim Director Malave urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Benjamin Figueroa to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
