Newark -- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Police Director Anthony F. Ambrose are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a person of interest in connection with shooting death of Mr. Faheem R. Muhammad, 27, of Newark.
According to a statement released by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Officer, on October 7, at approximately 7:45 P.M. Newark Police were dispatched to 409 Lyons Avenue on a report of a shooting in progress.
When officers arrived, they discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries according to authorities.
Surveillance video was located which depicts the person of interest who was last seen running away north on Wainwright Street.
Attached are photos of the person of interest. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, which is handling the investigation, is seeking help from the public in identifying the person of interest in the photograph.
