The incident occurred around 5:10 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Parkway.

Transportation officials on NJ-511 report that the right lane remains closed as investigators continue to examine the scene.

The closure is affecting a heavily traveled stretch of the highway, situated between two major roadways—I-280 to the north and I-78 to the south, both of which feed into the Parkway during the busy morning rush.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim or confirmed why the pedestrian was on the roadway.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, with State Police withholding further details at this time.

Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes if possible and expect delays throughout the morning.
