Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two men involved in the daytime theft of a high-priced power tool from a local supplier.

According to information released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the shoplifting incident took place around 2:06 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025, at JH Fischer & Son, a construction and hardware supplier located in the 500 block of Ferry Street.
Surveillance footage shows two Black males entering the store.
One acted as a lookout while the other grabbed an electrical saw valued at $1,299 and fled the store on foot, heading north on Cortland Place.
Both suspects were shirtless, had long dreadlocks, and wore blue hats at the time of the incident.
Authorities believe the men are familiar faces in the area and are known to frequent the Hyatt Court public housing complex.
