ALERT: Newark Police Search for Missing Elderly Woman UPDATE: Found Safe!

UPDATE 1:20 PM: Found in the area of Ferry and Monroe at around 1:19pm

There is an active search underway for an elderly Newark Woman who went missing early this morning.

According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose, the public's assistance is sought in locating Ms. Venice Jones, 70, of Newark, who family members reported missing on this morning.

Director Amborse said, Venice was last seen in the Georgia King Village area and is believed to be wearing a white T-shirt, black jean, two different shoes, and it is unknown if she is wearing a coat.

Vernice is 5’3” tall, weighs approximately 125 lbs. and suffers from dementia.

While police are actively searching for Venice, Director Ambrose seeks the public’s assistance in quickly locating and returning her to her family.
