Newark Police said the mother of Jahzir Whitmire, 11, of Newark, ran away from a residence in the 70’s block of Mercer Street in Newark.
Police said he was seen running in the location of John F Kennedy Recreation Center.
While police began to search for Jahzir, they spotted him in the area of Stephen Crane Housing Projects.
Once the officers responded to the comolex, Jahzir ran from that location.
He is 4’11” tall and weighs approximately 98 pounds.
Police said he has a brown complexion and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a Mickey Mouse design on the front with black boxer shorts and red slippers with green stripes.
