Expect police activity on South Park Street between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd streets as officers canvassed the areas searching for evidence that a shooting occurred after several calls into police from residents reporting possible shots fired Sunday evening.
Popping noises that resembled gunfire was heard on several blocks and particularly near the Mariner Apartments according to reports.
At this time, there are no injuries reported.
The city has launched investigations into two shootings that occurred overnight and earlier this afternoon at the Mravlag Manor housing developments where two victims were struck by gunfire.
The extent of their injuries have not been immediately reported as life-threatening.
Elizabeth Police are leading the investigation.
