An alert Elizabeth Police officer driving home in through Roselle spotted a missing senior Alzheimer’s patient during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, the off-duty officer just ended his shift in Elizabeth and when he made a stop at Wawa's in Roselle.
Officials say the officer -who was listening to the missing person's alert over the radio- spotted Mr. Morales at the establishment before midnight.
According to officials, Elizabeth Police officers were on the search for the senior Mr. Morales in Elizabeth and had notified other towns and area hospitals to be on the lookout.
Mr. Morales did not suffer any physical injuries and was returned to his family.
