The Attorney General’s Office is conducting an investigation of a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday night in Camden in which a police vehicle struck and fatally injured a pedestrian.   According to the preliminary investigation, an on-duty, uniformed officer of the Camden County Metro Police Department was operating a marked patrol vehicle southbound on Mount Ephraim Avenue at approximately 10:55 p.m., when he struck the pedestrian, a Camden woman who was crossing Mount Ephraim Avenue at Woodlynne Avenue.

The initial investigation found that the officer was not responding to any police alert at the time of the accident.
