Active Search for Suspects Wanted for Robbing Verizon Store in Newark

Newark Police are on the search for two suspects wanted for robbing a business in downtown Newark on yesterday.

According to authorities, at approximately 6:45 p.m., police responded to the Verizon store, located at 744 Broad Street, on a robbery call.

Police said two males entered the establishment and robbed an employee of cash and merchandise while displaying a handgun.

Authorities described the first suspect as a black male in his twenties who is approximately 6ft tall and weighs about 180 lbs.

The suspect wore a black North Face jacket, black skull cap, gray pants and tan boots.

Police said the remaining suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt with white lettering on the front, a black face mask, black pants and black sneakers.

The investigation remains active, ongoing, and the suspects remain at large.
