“As we have seen in our most recent cases and prosecutions, abuse too often hides in the darkness and shadows,” said Prosecutor Reynolds.

The Prosecutor emphasized that safeguarding children extends beyond the home and into every environment where children should feel safe and supported.

“The reality we continue to confront through our investigations is that danger can exist in spaces of trust. That is why awareness and action are critical.

Prosecutor Reynolds highlighted the importance of recognizing warning signs and acting without hesitation.

“A child who is fearful, withdrawn, or suddenly behaving differently may be asking for help without words,” he said.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is calling on all residents to take an active role in protecting children and reporting suspected abuse.

“If something does not feel right, speak up. Make the call,” Reynolds added. “You could be the difference in a child’s life. This April and every day, we must stand up for our children—because every child deserves to be safe, protected, and have their voice heard.”
