AccuWeather Alert: Rainy Day Ahead for Newark, North Jersey Region

The Newark and North Jersey region is under an AccuWeather alert, as rain is expected to dominate much of the day.NinosDespite a dry start this morning, residents should not leave home without an umbrella, as conditions are forecasted to turn wet and miserable around lunchtime.

Early weather radar detected precipitation moving into northern New Jersey at around 4:30 a.m., although much of it initially failed to reach the ground.

However, this is set to change as the day progresses. The National Weather Service has issued a forecast for Tuesday, predicting rain mainly after 8 a.m. with a high near 48 degrees and an east wind blowing at 7 to 14 mph.

The chance of precipitation throughout the day is pegged at 100%.

NWS forecasters said the rain is not expected to let up going into Tuesday night. It will continue to pour with a low of around 43 degrees.

The east wind will persist, ranging from 13 to 15 mph, and once again, the chance of precipitation will remain at 100%.

Residents are advised to prepare for a soggy day ahead and to plan their activities accordingly.
