Residents in the Newark and North Jersey region are in for a delightful Memorial Day as the sun takes center stage, casting its warm rays across the area.

With temperatures reaching a comfortable high near 79 degrees, residents can expect a picture-perfect holiday with abundant sunshine and clear skies.

As the day begins, meteorologists at the National Weather Service said a calm and clear start sets the stage for a memorable holiday.

The morning brings light and variable winds, which are expected to shift to the east, ranging between 9 to 14 mph.

According to NWS forecasters, this gentle breeze will provide a refreshing touch to the air, enhancing the overall experience for those planning outdoor activities and gatherings.

Forecasters say humidity levels stand at a pleasant 65%, adding to the comfortable conditions.

There's no need to worry about unexpected weather changes, as the forecast holds no rain showers or stormy conditions. 

According to the latest National Weather Service reports, the wind speed will be a gentle southwest breeze at around six mph, but as you get closer to the Jersey Shore, winds will pick up to about 30-35 mph.
