According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Omar Wallace, 28, of Absecon, pleaded guilty on Thursday, June 4, before the Honorable Joseph Levin to third-degree aggravated assault involving a domestic violence victim and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend a sentence of three years in New Jersey State Prison.

Authorities said the drug possession charge stems from an April 20, 2024 incident in Pleasantville

While investigating an unrelated robbery, officers with the Pleasantville Police Department encountered Wallace and discovered he had multiple active warrants.

After taking him into custody, officers allegedly found him in possession of several tablets of unprescribed oxycodone.

The aggravated assault charge resulted from an August 16, 2025 domestic violence investigation in Absecon

Officers from the Absecon Police Department responded to a residence near Oyster Bay Road after receiving a 911 hang-up call reporting a disturbance.

According to investigators, Wallace told officers he had been involved in an altercation with his girlfriend.

Police later spoke with the victim, who reported that Wallace grabbed her by the neck and applied pressure, causing her to lose her breath. Wallace was taken into custody at the scene.

Wallace is scheduled to be sentenced on August 14, 2026.
