According to a statement released by police, at 7:34 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to Sahara Sams Water Park for a reported cardiac arrest call from drowning.
Officials say upon arrival, officers were directed to an outside pool where lifeguards were performing CPR on the victim who was removed from the pool unconscious.
Lifesaving efforts were continued by police, West Berlin Fire Department and Berlin EMS. The victim was transported to Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, where he was pronounced dead at 8:34 p.m.
According to police, Meilech Grossman, 9, was part of a class trip with the Belzer Talmud Torah, based out of the Boro Park Community in Brooklyn NY.
There were several other groups and a total amount of between 750-800 children and staff at this private event.
The incident remains under investigation.
