64-Year-Old Woman Killed in Passaic Car Crash

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman announced that at approximately 6:05 a.m. today, officers responded to the area of 228 Gregory Avenue in the City of Passaic in response to a motor vehicle accident involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian.

Upon their arrival the officers determined that the pedestrian, Mary Hernandez, 64 years old from Passaic, was attempting to cross Gregory Avenue when she was struck by a 2018 Toyota 4-Runner, which was being driven by Manuel Henry Tolivia Gimeno,

48-years-old from Valencia, Spain. Mr. Gimeno was the only occupant of the Toyota and he was not injured in the accident. Ms. Hernandez was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic where she was pronounced deceased at 6:17 a.m.

No charges have been filed at this time, officials say the investigation remains active and ongoing.
