3.1 Magnitude Earthquake Felt in East Freehold NJ

There have been no immediate reports of any damage in a small earthquake that shook the area of East Freehold Wednesday morning.

According to The United States Geological Survey, a magnitude 3.1 earthquake hit in East Freehold around 2 a.m.

Police in the area said thousands of social media users in that area and across the state reported feeling vibrations, with some believing that the rumbling was some type of an explosion.

The USGS said the earthquake was centered 1.25 miles south, southeast of the center of East Freehold.
