A large branch that fell from a tree on Saturday afternoon killed a toddler on Saturday at a campground in Salem County, according to state police.
Police say shortly after 2 p.m. at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Campground at Tall Pines in Elmer, emergency responders were called for an injured person.
According to police, the branch struck the 3-year-old girl while inside of a tent at the campground.
EMS rushed the child to Inspira Medical Center Elmer, where doctors pronounced her dead.
Police say there were no other injuries reported.
Police say they believe strong storms caused the branch to strike the child but the investigation remains open.
