21-Year-Old Drag Racer Caught for Killing New Brunswick Vice Principal

PISCATAWAY -Middlesex County authorities say they arrested the driver accused of killing a New Brunswick vice principal during a street race on Saturday October 6th.

According to the prosecutor’s, 21-year-old Piscataway resident Freddy Garcia Jr. struck and killled Tyron Harrison, 49, while Harrison was walking near Stelton Road and Ethel Avenue in Piscataway.

Officials say that Garcia lost control of his 2003 Honda Accord when he struck the victim. Police say that Garcia abandoned the car and ran away. They say that he falsely reported that his car, which was not registered or insured, was stolen.

The incident remains under investigation.
