2-Year-Old Child Rushed to Hospital After Being Scald by Hot Coffee in Elizabeth

A child in Elizabeth was rushed to a NJ hospital after suffering burns to his chest after being scaled by coffee early Thursday morning.

The incident happened inside a home on the 1000 block of Bond Street before 8:30 a.m.

According to police, the 2-year-old child reached up to grab a hot cup of coffee that the child’s grandmother had just made when the liquid spilled on him.

The child was rushed to St. Barnabus Hospital in Livingston suffering non-life threatening burns to his chest.

The incident is currently under investigation by police.
