16-Year-Old Charged in Connection with Fatal Stabbing in Jersey City

Authorities in Hudson County announced that on Wednesday, December 20, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit arrested a 16-year-old Jersey City male in connection with the fatal stabbing of Naseer Munroe.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez stated that the 16-year-old is charged as a juvenile with Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

AdHe was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus, officials said.

Officials say juvenile matters are confidential, and no additional information can be released at this time.

According to officials, on Friday, December 15, at approximately 8:55 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of a stabbing in the area of Duncan Avenue and Wilmont Street in Jersey City.

Upon arrival, responding officers located a male victim – later identified as Naseer Munroe, 18, of Jersey City – with an apparent stab wound to the torso, authorities say.

Officials said Munroe was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 10 p.m
