$1,500 in Marijuana Seized by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force

Morris County

The Mercer County Narcotics Task Force concluded a weeklong investigation on Wednesday with one arrest and the seizure of $1,500 in marijuana, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.

Onofri stated that task force officers executed a search warrant at the Clay Street residence of Ziheem Bridgeforth on Wednesday morning. Mercer County Prosecutor’s Sergeant Joe Angarone utilized his K9 partner Bela to conduct an interior “sniff” of the dwelling.

Bela gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics in Bridgeforth’s bedroom, as well as drug paraphernalia throughout the residence.

Officers discovered approximately 150 grams of marijuana in the bedroom, valued at approximately $1,500. Cash totaling $244 was also seized as proceeds from narcotics distribution.

Bridgeforth, 20, was charged with second-degree narcotics offenses, including distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within a public housing facility.

His Clay Street residence is owned by the Princeton Housing Authority. Bridgeforth was released pending future court appearances.

Officers with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ewing, Hamilton, Princeton and Trenton police, under the command of the prosecutor’s Special Investigations Unit, assisted with the investigation.

Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
