14-Year-Old Teen from Trenton Charged with Murder of 40-Year-Old Man

A 14-year-old male was arrested on Friday and charged with the December 2017 murder of Brian Ficzko, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.

Police arrested and charged the Trenton teen - whose name is not being released because he is a juvenile - with murder, felony murder, robbery and weapons offenses.

A judge ordered the teen to be held at the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center.

According to authorities at approximately 6 p.m. on December 21, 2017, Trenton police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on the 300 block of Mulberry Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a male driver inside a vehicle that struck a pole and another vehicle.

The victim, later identified as 40-year-old Ficzko from Flemington, was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where it was determined that he suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said Ficzko was pronounced dead a short time later.

Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
