13 Men Arrested in Newark Prostitution Sting

Newark Police officials are reporting that 13 prostitution arrests, including four individuals from out of town, as part of an operation conducted by the Vice Task Force last night.

“We conducted these operations in response to complaints from residents,” Director Ambrose said. “Our neighbors deserve communities free of people coming in from out of town to solicit this activity in our city. I commend Vice Task Force for directly addressing the issues that tarnish our neighborhoods."

Officials say quality of life operation was initiated in the areas of Sherman Avenue and Clifton Street and Sherman Avenue and East Bigelow Avenue.

The individuals arrested from out of town are: Jacek W. Kowalski, 54, of South River; Jun Li, 44 of New York, NY; Ricardo Corujo, 48, of East Newark; and Mohamed M. Ibrahim, 39, of Elizabeth. Individuals arrested from Newark are: Rolando Sierra-Oterra, 41 David Pintado, 29; Leovigild Casado, 44; Robert E. Brown, 55; Kemar Thompson, 24; Ayodele Adeleye, 66; and Wali East, 39. Each faces a charge of Soliciting Prostitution.

This charge is merely an accusation.

Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
