12-Year-Old Charged After Crashing Mother’s Rental in Secaucus

A 12-year-old boy and his two brothers are facing charges after they reportedly took their mother’s rental.

According to authorities, on Apr. 18th police found a Nissan Versa, which appeared to have been involved in an accident, abandoned at 3 Millcreek Drive.

Officials said shortly before 1 p.m. police were called to La Quinta hotel, where they met with a Connecticut woman who told police that her three kids - a 12, 14 and 18-year-old - took her rental vehicle without her permission and crashed it.

Authorities subsequently charged the 12-year-old with operating the stolen vehicle.

Police identified the 18-year-old as Jordan Walker when they charged him and the 14-year-old with taking the car. Additionally, police charged Walker with use of a juvenile to commit a crime.

Officials said all three have since been released, officials added.
