$10K Reward Offered for Slain Former Newark Arts High School Graduate, Virginia Educator on Anniversary of her Death

Today marks the 5th anniversary of Dawn Reddick’s death said Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose. In an attempt to solve this case, the Essex County Sheriff’s Office is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information about the person(s) responsible for this senseless death.

Dawn Reddick was fatally shot on July 30th, 2011 while walking to the Chinese restaurant on Maple Avenue. According to Director Ambrose, Dawn was apparently the unintended victim in the tragic incident.

Reddick who was 29, at the time of her death was a 3rd grade teacher who lived in Virginia and had recently come back to Newark to drop off her nephew and visit some friends.

She was one of four individuals who was shot, a 7-year-old girl was grazed in the leg and two men were shot with only Reddick’s injuries fatal.
