Newark Police officials are on the search for the driver of a car that struck a child on a street in the city's West Ward then drove away.
According to police, the child was walking in the vicinity of Littleton and 14th avenues when the driver of a grey vehicle struck the girl at the intersection then sped from the scene.
EMS rushed the child to University Hospital where she remains in stable condition.
There were no other injuries reported.
