Keith Isaac was appointed the first director by Newark Municipal Resolution and officially sworn in as director of combined emergency management and homeland security offices for the city of Newark in 2006 by former Mayor Cory a Booker and reappointed by former Mayor Louis Quintana Isaac developed Newark's state of the art emergency operation center which he personally designed to withstand hurricane force winds. Under his leadership, one of the most advanced mobile emergency operations command centers for executive level devolution was developed in the country according to officials. Officials said Keith not only masterminded the design and layout of the cities top notch emergency operation center but he also created the city first OEM mobile EOC. Keith, please let the city through many pieces of training and disasters. During the most legendary super storm Sandy he met one on one with President Obama's secretary of Homeland security to discuss his state of the art emergency operation center in the robust emergency management system which was set in place under his direction and order that she could present the same model and system to President Obama. Secretary Lute was astonished by Keith's prowess and passion for OEM. She immediately called and informed President Obama. Keith Isaac Retired Newark police lieutenant, Air Force veteran made his transition on Oct. 23, 2016, at the age of 54. City officials named the corner of Bergen Street and Clinton Avenue in his recognition.
