Washington Twp. Road Reopens After Car Crashes Into Utility Pole

A one-vehicle crash closed a Washington Twp. road for after vehicle crashed into a utility pole, police said today.

Police responded to Pitman Downer Road south of Chapel Heights Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving one car shortly after 10 this morning, according to police.

Police found that the involved vehicle had collided with a utility pole and then came to rest in the roadway. 

The driver was not injured and did not require medical attention. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was using a electronic communication device at the time of the accident, according to report. 

The stretch of Greentree Road and Chapel Heights Road was closed for an hour during the crash investigation and debris cleanup.
