Woman says Man She Met in Newark Raped her at Jersey City Hotel; Third Rape Incident Since the Weekend

According to a statement released by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, on Saturday, June 29, shortly after 4:00 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a sexual assault that occurred at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 540 Washington Blvd. in Jersey City.

Authorities say, responding police officers found a 21-year-old female from Jersey City who reported that she was sexually assaulted a short time after 2:30 a.m. by an unknown male she met earlier that evening in Newark.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Victims Unit, is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.

No arrests have been made at this time authorities said.
