Woman Carjacked in KFC's Parking Lot in Newark

Police in Newark seeks the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection to a carjacking that occurred on today -Thursday-.

According to police, at approximately 7:30 a.m., in the parking lot of KFC, the victim reported that she was in her 2006 Toyota Corolla when she was approached by an unknown male who placed an object in her side and took her car.

Police said the suspect then sped away on 12th Avenue.

After a canvass of the area, Robbery Section detectives accessed surveillance video identifying the pictured individual as a suspect.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying him and removing him from our streets.
