Warrant Issued for Newark Auto Burglary Suspect

Police in Newark are reporting that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Gifford M. Abdurrahi, 34, of Newark, on charges of burglary and theft in an incident that occurred on Saturday, September 15th.

Police say at approximately 3:30 p.m., police responded to Valet Parking Garage, located at 111 Mulberry Street, on a call of a theft from auto.

Police say the victim reported that personal property was stolen from a parked vehicle.

Detectives investigating this incident identified Gifford M. Abdurrahi as a suspect in this incident and have secured a warrant for his arrest.

Police say Abdurrahi is described as 6’ tall and 160 lbs. He has a medium brown complexion, brown eyes and black hair.

While police are actively searching for Abdurrahi, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets.

This investigation is ongoing.
