There is a homicide investigation underway in Irvington after an overnight shooting left a woman dead in the Township.
According to a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, the woman was shot in the 100 block of Hillside Terrace at around 1:30 a.m. and died a short time later.
Family and friends identified the woman as 31-years-old Tajmiah 'Mia' Phillips.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There is no word of arrests made at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
