Authorities in Essex and Hudson counties are investigating a rash of armed robberies that are being reported by residents in Newark and Harrison over the weekend.
A video has surfaced of a brutal attack and robbery of a man who was riding his bike on Merchant Street in Newark on Saturday evening.

Police are looking for a Black Chevy Impala occupied by three suspects (possibly Hispanics) who engaged in armed robberies around the city. Police say the car has a reported license plate number "B63-AVX" the suspects have reportedly changed plates on occasions.
According to police, in one of the violent attacks, suspects pulled up in the area of Merchant Street near Ferry and targeted a male riding his bike Saturday night. The video -recorded by a resident- shows the suspects exit a car then began to beat and rob the victim before fleeing the scene.
According to the nearby Town of Harrison residents, a rash of robberies has them feeling afraid after suspects attacked a man on Patterson Street on Saturday night.
The wife of the victim said the following on a Harrison community Facebook page immediately after the attack: "Tonight my husband was assaulted by four men in a vehicle in the single-digit block of Patterson Street Harrison NJ. If anyone finds documents in the name of D.V., please contact me".
While Harrison authorities have not released an official statement regarding multiple reports of armed robberies in the town, resident are saying there were incidents in the town as early as Sunday night.
According to preliminary information obtained by RLS Media, at approximately 9 p.m., last night, Harrison Police were called the vicinity of Franklin and Harrison avenues to take a report of a robbery.
Upon arrival, police notified surrounding towns to be on the lookout for a dark-colored car occupied by two Hispanics and a black male who robbed a resident. The men sped away from the scene at remain at-large.
In the overnight hours of March, 25th-26 residents reported armed robberies along Harrison Avenue by suspects armed with weapons and demanding personal possessions.
A formal statement by Harrison authorities have not been released at this time.
